The Coral Reef Conservation Program funds and equips coral reef conservation activities by NOAA and its partners in the seven U.S. states and territories containing coral reefs. These priority areas are American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Florida, Guam, Hawai'i, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands (shown as small blue dots on the map).
We also support coral reef research and conservation efforts in remote areas of the United States (Papahānaumokuākea National Marine Sanctuary, Pacific Remote Island Areas, and Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary) and regionally across the Caribbean and western Pacific (shown as larger semi-transparent circles on the map).
